Dinner there was a really bad experience. You can eat much better food around the region for a much better price.

We stayed three days in a large, bright room with two windows and a lovely city view. It had a TV, wardrobe and desk, plus a spacious bathroom with a bathtub. The hotel is exceptionally clean and well run by a family. The decor is simple but tasteful, and the home-style cooking is delicious. There’s also a bar open all day. This unassuming place turned out to be a pleasant surprise, and I highly recommend it.

Being close to the city center was the only real plus. The hotel is old-fashioned and sits at a traffic light intersection. Our clean room faced the street; its small bathroom seemed recently renovated but had no ventilation. During the heatwave it felt damp with the windows shut, so we opened them for air at night. Traffic woke us before 5:00 a.m., and we had to close everything again. At 6:00 a.m. someone opened the shutters in a room loudly, with the sound echoing everywhere. A terrible night. I might choose this hotel by default once, but never again.

At €7.50, breakfast was deplorable: coffee with grounds in it, a cardboard-like croissant, stale bread, and just one industrial fruit juice. The hotel is poor value for money. The single-glazed windows and high humidity left the rooms feeling like they were never aired out. It’s right beside a busy road, so there’s a lot of noise and opening the window at night is almost impossible, even when the room is warmer than outside. If making money is all the restaurant business means to you, stop now. This is work that takes passion, with customer service as the priority!

The food is excellent home-style cooking, and you can even end up eating too much. The rates are very good, lower than the discount chains. This old-fashioned roadside hotel from the 1950s has more charm than today’s chains. It’s near the city center and not far from the train station. The welcome was simple but pleasant, and the rooms are quite comfortable.
