La Ferme de Marie Eugénie

Dominique was incredibly helpful when we ran into a problem with our car, and we’re so grateful he went out of his way for us. He and Marie-Eugenie are wonderful hosts. We had a fantastic stay at the farm, with a spectacular setting, a very comfortable room, and Marie-Eugenie’s brilliant cooking. Merci beaucoup 🙏

We had a lovely aperitif in the garden before sitting down to a delicious dinner in Marie Eugenie’s stylish kitchen. She’s a great cook, and the hosts were charming. The rooms were very comfortable, and the old farmhouse made for a superb overnight stay. Highly recommended.

We shared an aperitif together, and the homemade jam at breakfast was a lovely detail. The room was sweet and elegant, and the handmade dinner felt special. Marie and her husband were warm and caring. It’s a magical place for anyone looking for nature and a family kind of welcome. These are days we won’t soon forget.

The best part of our weekend near circuit de bresse turned out to be the farm where my father and I stayed overnight. He’d booked it at random, expecting a little farm, but it had been beautifully modernized. Our rooms weren’t very large, though they were decorated in the same welcoming style as the saloon, whose furniture gave it a warm feel. The kitchen was fantastic too. At dinner, the few guests gathered in the saloon for an aperitif. We had three excellent wines with salami, olives, and tomato appetizers, and that alone was great. Then Marie brought out a cookbook that featured her and her specialty, coq au vin, and told us she’d be making it for us. The five dishes included fish pie and the most amazing chicken I’ve ever tasted, plus a chocolate cake for dessert that was to die for. The food, the setting, and conversations with the charming guests made this an experience I won’t forget. I’ll definitely come back, and I can’t recommend the place enough if you’re nearby.
