We liked the hotel overall and enjoyed our stay, but it seems like some small, inexpensive fixes could make a big difference. The hotel is handy for the roads, local restaurants and supermarkets, and within easy reach of many historical sites from both world wars and the Hundred Years’ War. We stayed in apartment 322 from 30/10 to 02/11/25. It costs about 35 euros more per night than a regular room and can theoretically sleep four. There’s plenty of space, with two bedrooms, a large living area, kitchen, dining furniture and sofa, plus a balcony and an upstairs observatory-style room. The beds were comfortable, and we liked the views and the room to spread out. It seemed to have been the owner or manager’s apartment before it was added to the rooms available. It felt as if someone had moved out and the apartment had been hastily put up for guests. There were no bedside lights, the only bedroom shelving unit was wobbly and not fixed to the wall, and the sofa seemed to have been stored on its side without being cleaned. It had lots of hair on it, especially on the back. Mops and buckets were left out, kitchen equipment was very sparse, and the upstairs lookout room was unclean, had rubbish lying around and no furniture to sit on. There’s one toilet in the hallway and one bathroom, an en-suite to the main bedroom without a toilet, so anyone using the shower has to go through that bedroom. That layout can’t be fixed, but dealing with the other things would take less than a couple of hours and could turn an interesting experience into a memorable one for the right reasons. The staff were friendly and the service was good, and I thought breakfast was perfectly acceptable. The bar was dim and poorly thought out. It could be a good extra for the hotel, but we only had one drink before going out and another when we got back. We would have stayed longer if the atmosphere had been better.

We stopped here to split up the drive from the UK to the Alps. The car park was secure, the bed comfortable, and unlike the Ibis Budget we used last year, this room had carpet. The shower was hot and powerful, and breakfast was good. The bathroom smelled a bit funny, but it was clean.

I stayed for about a month and the cleaning was poor. I think they vacuumed the room only once during that time. The sheets were clearly dirty and still weren’t changed, so you really have to tell them to replace them.

This works for a stopover if you’re okay with French youths racing their cars along the nearby twisty roads, which seem to invite a Fast & Furious run. The rooms are very basic, but acceptable for the price, and it’s close to the motorway, making it easy to get back on the road the next day. At first the receptionist seemed slow to get going, but she eventually checked guests in, apparently to her own surprise.

We used it as a stopover. The outside looks fine, but the interior doesn’t live up to the Ibis Styles standard we usually expect. The corridors were quite dark and smelled of smoke, and the bathrooms need updating. The rooms were okay, breakfast was fine and not too busy. It did the job, just not at the level we normally get from this chain.
