hotelF1 Troyes Sud Parc St Thibault

The staff member we met was friendly, and the room was small but did the job for our night there. It's close to the motorway, with a nice restaurant next door where we had an excellent meal. The price is very cheap, and the quality reflects that. The bathrooms and showers are shared, in what felt like plastic cubicles.

It was cheap, but still not worth paying for. We tried three rooms before finding one that didn't smell of cigarettes, and by bedtime the smoke smell was strong. People were clearly smoking in rooms despite the no-smoking rule. There was no soap and no en suite bathroom. We also found no towels, and were told to bring our own or buy one for €3.

At €30 for two adults, it's a cheap, easy place to sleep during a road trip, and I'd recommend it if that's all you need. Just be aware that guests on your floor share a couple of toilets and showers. If that setup doesn't suit you, look elsewhere.

The room itself was clean and okay, but breakfast was poor compared with other F1 hotels. The check-in service was slow and unwelcoming. Outside, the car park had lots of large potholes and there were holes in the exterior wall. My first impression was that the place needed a lot of attention.
