We were hungry after a long, gorgeous ride down from Mont Ventoux, and arriving in Buis-les-Baronnies after 1:30 can be a problem since French restaurants often say the kitchen is closed. At 'Les Passions', though, the woman in charge gave us a warm welcome and made sure we got a proper lunch. Her French accent, with its Far Eastern origins, sometimes kept us guessing, but the welcome came through clearly. Carole's chicken salad was fresh, tasty, and filling, and she made me a huge omelette with plenty of garnish herself. The Alpine rally car theme makes the bar a fun, quirky place, with model cars and car parts worked into the furniture. There's even a red traffic light to show when the loo is occupied. A visit is worth it just for the atmosphere.

We had a good breakfast, and the staff were welcoming and lovely. The bed was comfortable, and the hotel room worked perfectly for a night in the area. The one small downside was the soundproofing: if your neighbour snores, you can hear it 😂

We'd stop at Michel's for a coffee before going to the pétanque court, where the games began just across the street. Michel would be waiting for us, and it was great. It wasn't at Lorette's, though it felt similar. (Sing those first four lines to the tune of Lorette's.) Things have changed since then, sometime in 2018 or 2019, I can't remember exactly.

The bathroom was spacious, clean, and had a window. Our room also looked out over the mountains.
