Chateau de Busset

The donkeys and chickens were a big hit with our three children, and collecting fresh eggs that would be served at breakfast gave them something to talk about long after we left. We spent Christmas at Château de Busset, and the château felt magical for the season, festive but still calm and warm. Christmas dinner was generous and carefully prepared, more like a family meal than hotel service, with lovely food and thoughtful details. Even in winter, there was plenty of room for the kids to move around and for us to relax. We could slow down, disconnect, and enjoy being together in this peaceful historic place. We felt welcomed, not just accommodated. An unforgettable holiday for all of us, and we’d recommend it to families looking for a meaningful break, especially for Christmas or another special occasion.

Dinner at the château was a real pleasure, with generous, carefully prepared food served in a warm atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent too, with fresh local products. We came to Château de Busset in spring 2025 for our honeymoon and loved the quiet grounds, where we could wander through the park whenever we wanted. The room was elegant and comfortable, with lots of charm and attention to detail. The château itself was beautiful and peaceful, with an intimate feel, surrounded by nature and history and far from everyday life. It made for a romantic getaway, and the stay is a memory we’ll treasure. We’d be very happy to return.

I left very disappointed. The room felt unpleasant and austere, and the food wasn’t very good. The meal price was exorbitant for what was offered, and I wasn’t impressed with the pool either. The quality didn’t match the description on Booking.com.
