Camping de la Tête Noire

I really liked how quiet the campsite was, and there were several places to walk my dog. The village is easy to reach on foot, with a small market, a restaurant, shops, and a few interesting spots to visit. The staff were friendly, helpful, and clearly put in a lot of work to keep the site and facilities clean. It's firmly on my list for another stop when I'm travelling through France.

We meant to stay for two nights but added a third, and we'd happily return when we're nearby. Getting onto the site was easy, and our pitch was very large. You can choose a 16 amp hookup instead of the more usual 10 amp, which is handy. The recently renovated shower block was neat and clean. The new owners are a pleasant, hardworking young couple who both spoke very good English. We thought it was excellent value.

Our pitch was a good size, and the facilities were clean, well cared for, and very good. The site sits by a river, close to a large sports complex and pool, with a good Carrefour nearby for supplies. We only stopped for one night on our way farther south, though it would be easy to stay longer. If you're coming from the A20 with a large caravan, it's easier to take the bypass to the far end and come back, since the town road is narrow.

We enjoyed our night here, and the owners were nice despite the language barrier. It's a lovely little site beside a small river, near a sports field and swimming pool. The facilities are dated but work fine. There isn't much around, though the village is only a short ride away. We did hear some noise at night from motorbikes racing on the nearby road, as well as ducks and geese on the river. A good place to stop for the night.
