The room was clean and comfortable, with enough amenities and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was very good, especially the local produce and goat cheese. We arrived late after letting them know, and they left the door open with directions to our room. We were nearly the only guests, so wandering around the chateau at night felt impressive and unusual, though maybe a little spooky after all those ghost films. We had a nice chat with the owners and the other two guests, then looked around the grounds before leaving. My first stay in a 150-year-old chateau, and a unique experience.

Breakfast was a highlight, with delicious food made locally and a hostess who had a huge smile and plenty of information. The place has a real fairytale feel. There isn't modern furniture, so you feel as if you've stepped into the 17th century. There's a golf course next door, and we're already planning a weekend here with golfer friends.

The bedrooms are all quirky and individual, and the welcome is wonderful. Breakfast is delicious, and in July and August you can book an evening meal. It works beautifully as a stop while travelling north or south, but there's everything you need for a longer stay too.

Our three-day, two-night wedding at chateau du boisrenault was a dream, and our family and guests all loved their stay. The dinner was delicious, and we got great feedback from everyone. The chateau was spotless and the staff were friendly. We booked a year ahead, and the owner kept answering my questions and helping with the wedding planning. I'd highly recommend the venue for weddings, birthdays, or family celebrations.

A quiet, cozy getaway. The bedrooms were comfortable, each with its own bathroom, and I came with two lovely cats.
