We paid 140 euros for one night, and the room we got looked nothing like the pictures online. It was downstairs beside the car park, so we could hear people coming and going all night. The toilet ran the whole night, the old air conditioning was really noisy, and the bathroom light didn't work. Another light stayed partly on even after we switched it off. For a 50-euro hotel I might have understood, but not at this price. Stay away.

We'd planned to eat at one of the village restaurants, since they were an easy walk on level ground, but after Jacqueline had to manage the stairs, she was in too much pain to go farther. So we ate at the Logis instead. Her “tomowak de porc” was extremely tough, dry and overcooked, and in my opinion inedible. Her arthritis affects her hands and fingers, and even after the waitress brought a steak knife, she couldn't cut it. I tried too and had the same problem. We complained, and eventually a senior waitress offered a replacement or a discount. By then I'd nearly finished my meal and Jacqueline was too upset and tired to keep eating, so we accepted the discount. At checkout the next morning, I saw that the full price was still on the bill. The manager took about 10 minutes to come over, then said in French, refusing to speak English though we knew he could, that we had to pay because we'd eaten there. We were already late leaving, so I didn't call the police. We paid and left. This was a one-night stop during an exhausting drive from Marbella to Geneva and back for my sister-in-law's funeral. We couldn't fly, partly because of Covid and partly because air travel is very difficult for my wife's disabilities. Jacqueline is 76 and has severe osteoarthritis, especially in her knees, and is waiting for knee replacements. She can manage level ground, though it hurts, but steps and stairs cause her agony. As with the other bookings for this difficult trip, we used Bookings.com, stated that wheelchair access was needed, and received confirmation. When we arrived, we were told wheelchair access wasn't available because both ground-floor rooms were occupied. No one apologized or had warned us ahead of time. We thought about finding another hotel, but knew nothing nearby was available and we were exhausted from the drive. Jacqueline insisted we stay and endure the stairs. Before dinner we were having a drink in the courtyard while the Manager chatted with staff and friends. He seemed unaware we were there or understood French, and acted out a little pantomime about someone pretending to be disabled to get the best room. He clearly suggested my wife was faking it and that staff shouldn't worry about her. His behavior upset us badly, but we had no real alternative to staying, so we carried on with the meal.

The courtyard was lovely, and breakfast was really good. Staff were attentive, parking was easy, and the rooms were very nice and quiet.

It was comfortable and clean, though there weren't any extra perks. The advertised pool was closed because of covid. I didn't eat at the restaurant, but I'd read good things about it. Public transport is nearby, though the hotel isn't conveniently located for the city center or beach.

Stephanie and the gentleman, whose name I can't remember, were both so kind and helpful to me. I'll never forget you. Merci beaucoup, Muriel 🌻
