Appart'City Classic Caen

The room was clean, the kitchenette had enough equipment, and the staff were helpful. Parking can get busy during school hours because some people from the nearby high schools use it too. Public transport is close by for getting to the city center, and Carrefour is less than a five-minute walk away.

I had a health emergency and was becoming unconscious, so I called reception and asked them to bring water to my room. Even after I explained what was happening, the staff member refused and told me to come downstairs to pay. I could barely walk down there. Once I made it to reception with great difficulty, he only asked for payment. Why would I run off without paying for a bottle of water? I still wonder how this hotel can reassure people who suddenly face a serious health problem. I'm sharing what happened so nobody else has to go through what I did. The experience felt awful and far too commercial.

The apartment was quiet and in a good location, and I slept well. It was functional, but the cleaning was either skipped or done very badly. A small table for the living room was missing, along with a dessert plate and a bread knife.

The staff were helpful and supportive, which was the one good thing in a disastrous stay. The room seemed okay at first, but the toilet wasn't clean, the cupboard door was broken and almost unusable, and the hallway smelled rotten. Then we found the main door lock wouldn't work from either side. Staff tried keys, said they'd call a technician, then came back ten minutes later with another set. It locked only twice in about ten tries, and never from inside. We couldn't stay like that. There were no other rooms, so at the last minute we had to find somewhere else. After driving eight hours to Caen, it completely ruined our holiday. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone visiting Caen.
