On Friday mornings, the weekly market is right outside, and in the evenings we loved having the fireplace going. Get the breakfast and fire kit. The apartment has lovely Haussmann style, high ceilings, and tall windows. Our friends in nearby hotels were jealous. It’s the best place in Caen, so stop looking and book here! There’s no lift, so consider the first-floor apartment.

We wished we’d stayed longer in Caen. The city felt charming, very French, and not touristy, with good prices for hotels and drinks. Chez Laurence du Tilly was delightful and made us feel like we were living as locals. Our apartment had a kitchen and was in the Old Town, a great base for visiting Mont St. Michel, Bayeux, and Omaha Beach. On Friday we went downstairs to a lovely farmers' market and bought fresh pate and fruit. The restaurant recommendations were spot on. I’ve traveled extensively in the US and Europe, and I recommend Chez Laurence du Tilly without hesitation.

Out of the four places we stayed in France, this was my favorite. The apartment was spacious, beautiful, well kept, and in a great spot, and the host was wonderful and very accommodating. One thing to know: a nearby bar stays open late on weekends, so bring earplugs if you're staying then. I’d absolutely come back and recommend it to anyone.

Salomé gave us such a warm welcome and did everything she could to accommodate us. The apartment was beautifully decorated, comfortable, and well equipped. It’s also in a brilliant spot for historic sites, restaurants, and bars. We had a wonderful stay and definitely plan to return.

We loved staying in this adorable Caen apartment. It’s just a few minutes from the pedestrian area, Hotel de Ville, Abbey aux Hommes, and more. Salomé shared fantastic dinner recommendations and even made the reservations for us. The place is thoughtfully decorated and has everything you need.
