Séjours & Affaires Caen Le Clos Beaumois

The parking, quiet setting, and location near the city center and castle were good. The microwave worked, too. But the electric cooking equipment didn't work during the first two days of our three-night stay, which were holidays. Reception was closed the first evening. The next day they offered a room change, but only to a two-bed room that didn't suit us. The shower drained so slowly that using it was unpleasant. At checkout we still had to pay the tourist tax. I understand it's required, but with so many things unavailable, they could at least have offered a discount. I won't try Sejours et Affaires again, even in another city. What I saw felt like a routine problem for them. I'm writing this so they'll check rooms before renting them out.

For one night, this was a nice little studio and a better deal than some other cheap hotels we'd booked. There was a convertible table, two chairs, and a kitchenette with what we needed, including a cleaning pack. The bathroom was okay, though the microwave had some dirt in it.

The breakfasts were tasty, especially the bread, and the staff were polite, cheerful, and helpful. It's a 10-15 minute walk to the city center, and works fine if you want somewhere cheap and functional. Just don't expect the little extras of a better hotel: towels and toiletries are replaced only once a week, and the front desk closes at 7:00 pm.

A simple apartment hotel with plenty of secure parking, about 15 minutes from the town center. The room layout could be better, and air conditioning would help. Shops and a bar are around a ten-minute walk away.
