The shared terrace is a lovely place to sit under the starry August sky, and the tables there are set up for a thoughtfully prepared dinner. The location is quiet, breezy, and tucked away just beyond the coastal traffic. It’s high enough that you might occasionally see a forest animal coming back. Every room is named after a plant and has its own style. The whole place has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, somehow both chic and familiar, both homelike and holiday-like. Pictures on Booking.com can try to make a place look more appealing, but here it’s hard for them to capture the feeling of being there. Olga and Giovanna are attentive and unfailingly courteous, with a lot of care in the details, from the homemade breakfast items to doing their best to meet guests’ wishes. I can’t promise you’ll love them unconditionally, since they’re honest and don’t put on a sales act, but you’ll see their care. I’d call them friends. If I can, I’ll be back next year!

The real charm came from the wonderful women who looked after us, and the food they prepared with such care and love. This peaceful place added so much to our holiday. Highly recommended, and we’ll be back. ❤️ We spent six wonderful days in this beautiful 18th-century Corsican house. On arrival, the view of the lush forest with the sea behind it was spectacular. Our room, Myrtle, was gorgeous and opened directly onto the lovely sea-view terrace.

Luciana told us about the history of Maison Simonpietri and offered useful ideas for places to visit. She was supported by Olga and Giovanna, who were excellent, helpful hosts. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The rooms are impeccable, and the terrace is magnificent.

We stayed in the Corbezzolo room. It’s small but functional, with two excellent single beds and a good shower. We also made use of the shared spaces: the large living room where breakfast is served, the kitchen, and the upstairs terrace overlooking Porticciolo Bay. Maison Simonpietri is about 5 km from the sea, surrounded by greenery on the lower hillside. The heat was intense, and even the thick walls of this period house felt it. Fortunately, the living room and bedrooms have recently been fitted with air conditioning, which meant we could sleep peacefully. Luciana lives in a nearby house in the same hamlet of Suare and is available in the morning and evening to help with guests’ needs. She also gave us valuable advice on beaches and interesting places to see around Cap Corse. We had a pleasant stay, and I highly recommend it.
