The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the staff were attentive and knowledgeable. The location worked well for us: it’s a 15-minute walk to the SNCF for trains to Nice, Monaco, Cannes, and Antibes. Buses go to the airport and around the area, and a free bus runs up to the medieval chateau until 10:30pm. We mistakenly thought the hotel was in Nice, but it’s actually about 30 minutes from Nice Ville by Uber or train. We booked a fifth-floor room for access to the rooftop pool, which was amazing and open daily from 8 to 8. There’s a restaurant, but we didn’t eat there. Breakfast was €20 per person, which sounded expensive, though it looked beautiful. A lovely hotel in Cagney sur Mer, and I’d highly recommend it.

The rooms were okay and somewhat clean, but I can’t recommend staying here. The breakfast was nothing special, and the bread and baguette tasted like they might be from the day before. Customer service was ridiculous. We’d reserved the parking garage and were told, both in the instructions and at check-in, to ring the bell when we arrived. It would have helped if anyone had answered. Once, the reservation team picked up; after we explained the problem, they just said, “No thanks, have a good day,” and left us outside. Another day, nobody answered, so we had to use public parking.

You can hear everything from the street because there’s no noise insulation. Public workers woke me around 3am, and when I called reception, they said there was nothing they could do. The balcony doors could be replaced with ones that actually block the noise. This was the worst choice for my business trip. Definitely not recommended.

Reception staff were kind and helpful, and they let us into our room at 1 PM, which we appreciated. But our return stay this year didn’t meet expectations after an okay visit in 2024. We come back to Nice for the food, views, azure water, and the coast, but the hotel’s breakfast was a letdown. The price had gone up by about €20 a day, while breakfast felt more like what you’d get at a 2.5-star hotel. There were only two or three kinds of fresh meat, compared with salmon and other choices last year, and only three cheeses. Some mornings cucumber was the only vegetable, whereas last year there had been four or five kinds. Variety matters on a longer stay, and after eating the same breakfast for 9-10 days, I was thinking of changing hotels. I don’t think I’ll return.
