The setting made it easy to unwind, with lovely countryside, a pleasant garden and sunbeds, and a clean heated pool. We were looking for a few quiet days after a busy spell at work, and found just that on our first trip to the Dordogne. Mick and Cathy’s ‘petite gite’ is bright, airy, and has all the essentials, with good local restaurants nearby. Mick and Cathy are warm, excellent hosts who really want guests to enjoy their time in Bergerac, and they’re happy to suggest places to eat and visit. There are bikes to borrow too, which we’re planning to try next time. Sans-Souci is only 20 minutes from Bergerac airport, so it worked well for our short trip to France and would also make a good base for a longer holiday. We’ll be back!

The gite was clean, cozy, and really nice. It’s a beautiful, quiet area, and the swimming pool was spotless and refreshing.

The peace and quiet here was one of our favorite things, and the hosts are welcoming while still giving you privacy. We stayed in the suite, which has two bedrooms, a shower room, a private toilet, and its own entrance. There’s also a well-equipped outdoor kitchen for guests to use. The hosts don’t speak French, but we had no trouble discussing the essentials of our stay. Good value for money. The house has everything you need and feels just like home. It’s such a peaceful place to relax, and we had a fantastic time in the pool as a family, even when it rained. The hosts are charming and wonderfully discreet. What a lovely discovery, and a beautiful region to explore. We’d highly recommend this gîte to anyone wanting to get away from the noise and rush of city life 🤗
