ibis Styles Calais Centre

Right between the city centre and the train station, so the location worked perfectly for me. My room was clean and quiet at night, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was good quality and there was plenty of it. I had a lovely stay. Merci!

The staff were polite and helpful, and both rooms were clean. Room 204, where we moved the next day, was properly warm. Room 131 had been very cold, though, and with a young child and temperatures around -1°C, we needed thermals in bed and extra duvets because the heating wasn’t enough. Parking spaces are very limited, so book ahead. Breakfast was basic, mostly cold cuts with a boiled egg as the hot choice. I hadn’t been to Calais since childhood and wasn’t sure what to expect. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

The evening in Calais was a lot of fun, with good beer bars around, and we had a nice meal at Le Chill. The car ferry is just 10-15 minutes away. At the hotel, staff were excellent, friendly and helpful, and the bar and lounge have games such as air hockey. Breakfast had plenty of choice, with good coffee, pastries and bread, though I couldn’t find English breakfast tea, only several fruit and mint teas. The breakfast room is spacious and has an interesting tree structure in the middle. Our clean, comfortable twin room was across the car park, about a 30-second walk from the main building. The single beds were very comfortable, we both slept well, and the ensuite shower was decent. Great value, and we’ll stay again. Thanks to the Ibis team.

Secure parking is a plus, and the staff are so pleasant and professional. They take time to help guests and really can’t do enough. We’ve stayed many times, usually as a stop on the way to or from the south of France, and the standard is always consistent. The large rooms are spotless, the beds are comfortable, and we always get a good night’s sleep. We love this hotel.
