Hotel Balanea

We only stayed one night, but the terrace overlooking the port and beach was a treat. For breakfast, it costs 17 euros per person. I’d recommend booking a sea-view room, since ours had a view of a plain wall. The rooms are modern and pleasant, with a small fridge, TV, an open closet, and an okay bathroom. There was a sofa bed in the standard room, but we booked a second room for our six- and eight-year-old kids, so we didn’t use it. The elevator was handy. The old town location was ideal for our family, with shops and nearby sights easy to reach. You can’t drive to the hotel, so we parked at the train station, about 150 meters away, for around 15 euros per 24 hours, then walked over.

The shower was pretty small, and water can run out into the hallway if you’re not careful. The bathing facilities were otherwise okay. It’s in a nice central spot, though nearby parking isn’t really an option. They do provide a free space in a lot about a five-minute walk away. I’d drop off your bags before leaving the car there.

The staff were great, and the price was very low. It’s a beautiful hotel right across from the lovely port, with incredible views. I’ll definitely come back.

It’s in a beautiful spot, and the hotel has free parking. The space is a couple of football fields away, but just having parking available is unusual in Corsica, where it can be hard to find, very expensive, or simply nonexistent.
