Résidence Catherine

The location is peaceful but still close to Calvi, and we had no trouble with flies even though our apartment faced a sheep meadow. The apartment was comfortable and well equipped, and the extra bed we'd requested was already set up. It was also spotless on arrival, floors included, which you don't always find. The pool has a shallow section and plenty of loungers, though in August it gets crowded and feels small for the number of residents. Good value for the money. A few additions would help: hooks or coat racks by the entrance, toilet and bathroom, a vacuum cleaner for a seaside stay, and a shower by the pool.

We came back for our second summer with the family at Catherine residence. The pool is a real bonus and worked perfectly for the kids. Our place had plenty of room for four, with 60m² inside and a 20m² terrace, and was nicely equipped and decorated. It's tucked away from the tourist bustle but only minutes from Calvi, the beaches and shops. It's not cheap, though the price makes sense, especially when some places in Calvi charge the same for mobile homes. I'd definitely recommend it.

The staff at reception were always glad to answer questions, the towel service was excellent, and there was lots of private parking right by the property. We'll be back to this same apartment for sure. This was a very deserving five-star stay, and thanks to the excellent management. We stayed in ground-floor apartment 3, with two bedrooms, a combined kitchen and living room, and a large terrace. It was lovely and had almost everything, though a towel rack in the bathroom would have been useful. The furnishings and kitchen appliances were high quality and in great condition. Air conditioning in both bedrooms also cools the combined living and kitchen area. The private pool is beautifully landscaped and kept immaculate. It's great for children of different ages: one quarter is around 15 cm deep, then five steps lead down to the section that's about 1.60 m. Our two kids, aged 2 and 4, started swimming there. Residence Catherine is about 5 km from Calvi, set back from a country road so there was no traffic noise in the apartment. There's a good bakery and a well-stocked supermarket right nearby. We also found plenty to do, from the friendly, well-equipped Centre Equestre de Balagne riding stables, a three-minute drive away, to Lumio, Calvi's lovely port, shops and alleyways, mountain trips and great restaurants. The restaurant at Camping International in Calvi had the best pizza and was especially welcoming to children.

We were charged twice because the site had a problem during the first payment, so we thought it hadn't gone through and paid again. I've contacted the owner several times to ask for a refund, but haven't had any reply by phone or email. Pierre N.
