Hôtel du Littoral

We’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels, from two to five stars, and nowhere have we felt less welcome. We lasted one night, which was one too many. The woman was wonderful, but my review is about the man and our interactions with him. He was rude, irritating, and nasty. He says he doesn’t speak English, yet he can clearly say “NO” and “NOT POSSIBLE.” I’d advise the woman to keep him in the back where guests can’t see him. There are plenty of rules. You can’t eat or drink in your room, and if he finds evidence such as a food wrapper in the bin, he’ll add a fee to the room charge. He also charges if he finds “excessive dirt,” without explaining what that means. There’s no elevator or air conditioning, and the stairs are dangerously steep, narrow, and winding. I wonder what he thinks about guests drinking water from the bathroom sink. The street-facing room also looks onto the church, whose bells ring every hour all night, so good luck sleeping. I’d drive farther down the road and stay elsewhere. We would never come back. Update: This unpleasant man didn’t reply to my Google review. He emailed me directly instead. As in our earlier interactions, he was extremely unpleasant and even threatened to punch me in the face over my honest review. That only confirmed my view of his nasty character. He apparently didn’t have the courage to respond publicly, where others could see it. Need I say more? Here’s a copy of his email to me, dated August 10, 2025: “Bonjour .merci pour votre commentaire qui ne sera pas lu évidement.les vieux sont moches et méchants aux États Unis comme votre président .vous êtes mal polis et prétentieux sans importance,arrogants.vous manquez de courage car si vous m aviez dis ça en face je te bourrais ta sale gueule de vieux con” You be the judge of his character.
