The house has a grand, almost secretive character, and Elisa and Vincent clearly put a lot of heart into caring for it and their guests. We felt warmly welcomed as soon as we arrived. Each morning brought a different, delicious breakfast, with Elisa's homemade jams especially memorable. Vincent also shared his deep knowledge of the area, helped us plan our days, and booked restaurant reservations for us. Le Bastide de Canaules is a real gem in the French countryside, and I can't recommend it enough.

We had two large beds spread across two connected rooms in a garden room, so there were no stairs to deal with. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, with croissants, bread, chopped fruit, and yogurt. We spent two lovely nights here, and the hosts were welcoming and communicated wonderfully. I speak only a little French, but Vincent wrote to me in perfect English on WhatsApp and showed us around the house and garden. I'd happily recommend La Bastide de Canaule.

The owners are lovely, and the rooms are spacious, charming, and very clean. There's also a nice garden and an excellent pool. A very pleasant place to stay.

We booked dinner at the Tables d'Hôtes several times, and Vincent and Eliza made carefully prepared, sophisticated meals that were delicious every evening. Breakfast was another highlight, with a special treat often included. The bastide is ideally placed for visiting the Cévennes foothills, the Nîmes region, and the Camargue. In the two Côté Tranquillité rooms, we found things clean, spacious, and well-equipped. The garden pool area also had plenty to do or just relax with, including a comfy lounge and chess, darts, and billiards. Vincent and Eliza were warm hosts and gave us useful ideas for exploring the area. Highly recommended for a visit to this beautiful region.
