We were on edge the whole stay because they take a deposit and we worried we'd lose it if anything went wrong. We stayed five nights, and even changing a towel costs extra. They also expect you to take out your own garbage, or pay 50 euros for a garbage bag. Ridiculous. The street wasn't great either, with lots of homeless people around.

Booking.com couldn't help me either, while Airbnb was more flexible and supported a cancellation and refund. My mid-July reservation was non-refundable, but COVID19 changed my plans: it had been partly a business trip, and my partners were still not hosting international guests. I had proof of that. I asked Florella Residences & Appartments, a private company rather than an individual host, either for a partial refund or to move the booking to the following year. They refused to negotiate or make any allowance. They were within their rights, but during the COVID19 crisis it was common to share the financial loss between guest and host. Other guests shouldn't count on flexibility from Florella Residences & Appartments.

There was a damp smell throughout the building. My apartment was also somewhat noisy, since it's directly across from the bus station and buses come and go around the clock.
