Hotel Du Nord

The owner’s behavior was the worst part of our stay. He used a key to enter our room while I was in the toilet, apparently because he thought several people were sleeping there. In the photo, he’s looking at me while I’m half naked. Google doesn’t seem to believe my review is real, for some reason. The location is okay, but that’s about all I can say in its favor. The room was dirty, there was no hot water, and we saw cockroaches. I could have put up with those things, but the owner was so rude to paying guests that I’d strongly advise people to avoid this place. It ruined our vacation and our sleep. We’d have been better off in the car. For a cheap hotel, there’s a reason it only gets 2 out of 5 stars. Pay a little more or book an Airbnb for a more peaceful trip.

The manager was extremely rude, and there was no hot water. The room smelled of cigarette smoke and chemicals, with dead bugs around. Sheets were dirty, the bathroom had mold, and the bed was smaller than promised. This place was noisy, smelly, and disgusting. Even at this low price, I wouldn’t recommend it. It’s really bad.

We’ve stayed in a lot of places around Europe, and the staff here were probably the rudest, least helpful, and least friendly we’ve come across. Avoid it at all costs.

The room could have been tidier, though it was still decent value for the Blue Coast. Its location was handy for exploring the city, especially if you’re arriving by train.
