Parking costs extra, but it’s right on-site, so there’s no need to search for a spot elsewhere. The room was clean and well kept, and check-in went smoothly thanks to the excellent service from the man at reception. The city center is an easy walk away. I’d highly recommend staying here.

The rooms were nice, the price was reasonable, and things went well until checkout. I was charged twice for my two-night stay. Even after I sent receipts showing I’d paid, the charge was never taken off my card, so I had to get my card issuer to resolve it.

Hotel Verlaine has a personal feel that keeps its small size from being forgettable. It’s no Carlton, but it doesn’t pretend to be. You drive through the gate, with reception on one side and the rooms on the other, in a way that feels classically south of France. Everything is decent, from the rooms to the equipment, and the price is still fair during Cannes high season. A good place for a night or two, as long as you’re not expecting fireworks.

The front desk insisted I hadn’t paid, even though I’d clearly paid through Booking.com. The management felt chaotic, and I wouldn’t recommend the place. It’s hard to believe a four-star hotel doesn’t even have a hairdryer.

The hotel is pristine and offers quality products, which I really appreciated. It’s very central, right near the heart of the action. The receptionist could have been kinder and more polite, though, since that first check-in encounter shapes the impression.
