City Residence Termalia

I needed somewhere at short notice while passing through, and a friendly gentleman booked me a room over the phone. He told me where to find the key and texted the door code. My phone was down to 3% battery, I’d forgotten my charger, and using an online booking site felt far too complicated, so calling worked out well. The house is old and showing its age, but the rooms are huge and there’s a kitchenette with a fridge and kettle. Everything worked perfectly. It was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and I could make tea, warm up, and get a good night’s sleep. Just what I needed.

We slept quietly, and the clean room was perfectly fine for one night. It came with a kettle, two tea and coffee bags, and a hairdryer. The residence is right opposite the leisure pool, though it was closed during our January visit. There isn’t much parking nearby.

The service was very good when we had a few small problems. The manager sorted them out quickly by phone, text, or email, though there’s no hotel staff on weekends. We stayed in Termalia 1, the oldest building, and its age shows on the facade, balconies, hallways, and stairs. Our room had been renovated and was very clean, so for the price we had no complaints. The bed was comfortable and it was very quiet. It’s fine for a few days, especially if you don’t plan to cook: the fridge is tiny and there aren’t many shops nearby. If you’re not after luxury and aren’t too demanding, I’d recommend it. If you are, look elsewhere.

We booked a one-bedroom apartment for three people. It was clean, roomy, functional, and simple, with a nice view of Place des Palmiers. We got a warm welcome and clear instructions when we arrived. The town was very quiet in early May, with not much to do, but the price was good for what we got.
