We’d been a little worried after reading earlier reviews, but the place turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The accommodation was spacious and clean, with its own small enclosed garden. It also looks like the property is kept up and updated regularly. Our dealings with Lagrange services were excellent and very professional.

The apartment’s location was good, but it and the building both felt dated. It was poorly equipped and especially dirty; I doubt it had been cleaned at all. We also had to go 10 km away to pick up the keys and the security deposit check.

The beach is only five minutes away, but otherwise our stay got off to a disappointing start. The apartment was dirty and old-fashioned, and I’m not convinced it had been cleaned before we arrived. We found dirty sheets and towels, and the microwave was rusty inside. I don’t see that as Booking’s responsibility. The listing photos suggested stylish furniture, a garden, and a terrace. What we got was a dated first-floor apartment with just a small, basic terrace. The offer felt close to misleading.

The setting is the best part: the ocean is 100m away, with bars and restaurants nearby, and it’s a human-sized coastal village with everything you need for surfing. The rental is fine for six, but cramped for eight. The fridge, bathroom, and terrace are all tiny, and the attic bedrooms aren’t suitable.

It’s a five-minute walk to the beach, with direct access, which was good. The apartment itself was another story: the sofa slats were broken, and we arrived on Saturday to find cleaning hadn’t been done. There were still crumbs on the table, and the chairs had been turned upside down. With the sofa unusable, how are you supposed to watch TV except on the chairs?
