Chez Martine is a stylishly furnished gite with all the modern conveniences. It was comfortable, the service was excellent, and the price was good. The medieval city is very close by. I’d recommend it to anyone.

The room at Martine’s house was lovely, and Martine and her husband made us feel very welcome. We stayed three nights on the garden side, and the fantastic breakfast was a highlight. A great place to stay.

Breakfast came with cheeses, jams, pastries, juice, coffee, and cereal, and there were also tea and coffee-making facilities in the room. The little fridge was stocked with Coca-Cola, beer, and water, all included. Our two-story room opened onto a pool courtyard and had all the comforts. It was separate from the main house, which was the only drawback, though it did give us more privacy. With the garden and pool, it must be especially nice in spring and summer. A welcoming French house and a great base for our stay in Carcassonne.
