The location is handy, just off the motorway and not far from the old city. It's basic, but very clean, with a comfortable bed, fresh linen, and even a face cloth. The room was warm, and breakfast was tasty, with lots of homemade breads and jams. I'd recommend it for a great stopover.

Brigitte was always happy to answer my questions, and patiently practised French with me. People in hospitality could learn a lot from her. The guesthouse was quiet at night, clean, and comfortable. There are just four rooms, each with a private bathroom. There are also plenty of animals around, including a dog, ewes, and chooks, plus ducks and guineafowl that I didn't meet. Breakfast was a real treat, with homemade jams, bread, and muffins. When I mentioned my nut allergy, Brigitte made me nut-free cookies. It's a few kilometres from the town centre, so with heavy luggage or if you don't want to walk, you'll need to drive or take a taxi. You can walk into the city centre, but it takes about 50-60 minutes. The first 15-20 minutes inbound felt a little scary because of the traffic and lack of a proper footpath. After that, it's a delightful walk along the shared path by the Aude river, ending at Pont Vieux. Payment is in cash. I had a wonderful stay.
