Le Bokeh Apartments

From the living room and main bedroom, we had lovely panoramic views over town, especially the castle area. The apartment faces a square, so the outlook feels open, with a charming church right across from it. The walk into town takes only a few minutes, which made it easy to go out in the morning, come back for lunch, and head out again. The neighborhood was quiet and pleasant, and there's a nearby bar for a meal, ice cream, or pastries. Inside, the flat matched the photos, despite the less inviting first impression from the facade, hallway, and stairs. The open-plan living room and kitchen are very spacious, with a big table where all eight of us could sit comfortably. The kitchen had what we needed, plus oil, salt, sugar, and coffee. There was even a jug of cold water in the fridge, much appreciated in the heat. The living room also had two sofas, a coffee table, and a TV. Upstairs were the two bedrooms as described. The main bedroom has a lovely city view from higher up, and the bathroom is roomy, with enough towels for everyone. The separate toilet worked fine for me, though a small sink in there would have been handy. There's also a washing machine, but no detergent. I was a little surprised, since dishwasher tablets, dish soap, and bathroom hand soap were provided. The host was easy to reach and replied straight away. Parking was harder: in mid-August we drove around for a while before finding a spot about an eight-minute walk away. It isn't cheap, but compared with prices in the area, I thought the value was excellent. The sofa beds were the main letdown, as other reviews have said. The larger one was usable, especially for kids, but the other was uncomfortable both to sleep on and to sit on. They could do with replacing. There was also a small leak in the bathroom. It was a minor nuisance and didn't really affect our stay, and we appreciated being told about it in advance. There's no air conditioning, but the several fans helped a lot. Those issues didn't spoil things for us. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely return to Carcassonne.

The apartment was good overall, but the sofa bed wasn't comfortable and the Wi-Fi was pretty unreliable. A few improvements would help.

The accommodation was spacious, beautiful, clean, and in a great location. We turned up at 9 pm without a reservation, and Manon showed us around and helped us get settled. She was so kind and kept finding solutions for us. We'll definitely come back. It's rare to meet such welcoming people and find a place this lovely. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and really pleasant, right at the foot of the city. We got a very warm welcome and plenty of tips for exploring the region. We'll be back 👍😊
