I hated the atmosphere in this room and slept badly. It’s clean, at least, and I think the current layout might suit a couple with a child trying to save on meals out. But this isn’t really a bed and breakfast, more of a strange apartment. To reach the gloomy back kitchen, you pass through a bathroom, which is quite nice, and then a toilet. It feels like a labyrinth. There’s a spiral staircase in the middle of the room up to a second room with a spare bed. From downstairs, it feels like going into an attic, which isn’t reassuring. Even the slightest noise echoes despite the double glazing. The bedding is awful, and the pillows are like pancakes. Breakfast isn’t served; you have to prepare it yourself. Someone just brings a croissant and a baguette at the time agreed the day before. I managed to negotiate a second croissant as an extra, which is some luxury for €75 a night.
