Camping Côté Ô Carnac

The pool was large and pleasant, with three sections, and our daughter enjoyed the slides. The chalet was new, spacious and nice, but it hadn’t been cleaned properly and there was mold in the shower. We paid around 1400 € for 10 nights, which felt overpriced. The houses are packed very close together, with little space between them and barely any sun coming into the rooms. Neighbours could see directly into our place, and we could see into theirs. It felt as though Sandaya cared more about fitting in as many houses as possible to make money than about guests’ experience. Other extras, like mini golf, cost more and weren’t well maintained. We ordered croissants from epicerie once, but they were expensive and not tasty, so we went to the bakery in Carnac each morning instead. We won’t come back, and I don’t recommend the place.

The pools were lovely, and the laundrette came in handy. Restaurants were easy to reach for meals out.

The facilities didn’t match the advertised photos and felt out of date. For example, the golf course couldn’t be played. We were also disappointed that the activities and services were aimed only at French audiences, making them inaccessible to our Dutch and English-speaking children. The animation staff didn’t seem aware of the exclusion or make efforts to include or attract them. We’re a family of two parents and four kids, and Sandaya Carnac didn’t meet the expectations created by its marketing during booking and orientation, or what our family needed for our planned 10 night stay. WiFi was advertised as “Free” during booking, including on Google Maps, but in practice it was free only at reception and for a few minutes. We paid 100 euro’s for WiFi during our stay. We decided to leave a day early, on Friday 26th instead of Saturday the 27th, and I had already told reception on the morning of Wednesday 24th. I expect Sandaya to refund the unused night, 10% of our costs, and the WiFi cost we had to pay.

The staff were very friendly, and we enjoyed the swimming pool and playground. The mobile home was a bit dated, which affected the bathroom hygiene. Unfortunately, the animation was only in French.
