Novotel Nantes Carquefou

The hotel sits in an industrial area, so there's not much around to do. There are nearby options like McDonald's, Burger King, and a pizza and burger shop. The front desk staff were friendly, but the rooms were very old, with a soft, saggy bed. The TV only had French channels. My shower was filthy and moldy, and the water had a strange smell. Breakfast was okay, though the selection was very small. The bread station got crowded, so perhaps they could spread things out, and there wasn't any water available. Since most guests seem to be there for business, breakfast should start earlier on both weekdays and weekends.

We arrived to find we'd been upgraded to an executive room, which was clean and really comfortable. Dinner and breakfast were faultless, and the staff were helpful, friendly, and professional throughout. Everyone we met at The Novotel, Carquefou, was smiling and deserves to feel proud of the service. A special thank you to the young man who helped sort out our satnav. Such a lovely stay, and we can't wait to come back. Well done.

Getting into downtown Nantes was easy, and it was about a 10-minute drive to the sights without the usual hassle of staying right in the center. The customer service was great, with staff who were friendly and attentive. The rooms could have been a little cleaner, since I found hair in a few spots, and I found the washrooms impractical.

We stopped here in summer 2020 with our two boys and our dog, breaking up the drive to the ferry in Roscoff. The boys loved the pool, and the hotel was lovely. The staff were very friendly, and dinner that evening and breakfast the next morning were both perfect. We'll return as soon as we can get back to France.
