When I finally found BNB Castellane, Claudius and his wife welcomed me warmly. Google Maps and Waze had both sent me the wrong way. My room, No 1, was clean, nicely furnished and had a good mountain view. I was tired and unwell when I arrived, so I wasn’t very sociable. At checkout the next morning, Claudius mapped out a route with spectacular scenery. Danke Claudius. The town is too far to walk to.

The host was very friendly, and the rooms were nice. It’s just outside town, but you can walk there in about five minutes. Highly recommend it.
