The Tavern

The Tavern is such a peaceful place to stay, tucked into the heart of the medieval village and a real change of scenery. The beds were excellent, and Marrikka welcomed us so warmly we felt at home. Her cooking was delicious too. We'd happily come back!

The meal was incredible, and sharing it with two lovely guests made for a really happy evening. We slept so well, even with the thunderstorm outside, and the room was spotless. Marrikka was a wonderful hostess, and she's renovated this historic building with a lot of taste. Our stay was short, but lovely. We'd love to return! Sarah & Jason

The included breakfast was generous and varied, made with fresh products and served with a smile. We also tried the table d’hôtes for an extra charge, and it was a highlight: homemade, tasty, plentiful dishes enjoyed in a warm, friendly atmosphere. Our room was spacious and tastefully decorated, with comfort and elegance that made it easy to relax. The gîte was impeccably maintained and felt welcoming. From the moment we arrived, we were charmed by the authentic village atmosphere and our host’s exceptional welcome. Her rare kindness, thoughtful touches, advice, and availability made the stay feel unique. Talking with her was a pleasure, and made us want to linger over another meal or a drink. The enchanting setting is lovely for unwinding, walks, and discovering the region’s treasures. Our stay at The Tavern in Castelnau-Pégayrols will remain an unforgettable memory. We recommend it to anyone seeking a warm, gourmet, authentic stop, and we’ll return without hesitation!

The dinner was excellent, and it was all homemade. Breakfast was just as good. We only stayed one night, but the warm welcome and perfect room, especially the kind of bedding you wish you could find more often, made an impression. The little house sits right in the heart of a charming, historic village. We’ll definitely come back!
