L'Atelier d'Epicure - Logis

We spent four nights in an upstairs “suite studio,” with a terrace overlooking the pool. It was spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was a good size, and the AC worked well. The bedroom isn't separate from the living area, so it didn't quite match my idea of a suite, but there was still plenty of room. The staff were super friendly, and it felt like great value. We ate at the restaurant twice and loved it. When we're back in Dordogne, we'll stay here again.

I’ve been here several times and the quality has stayed consistent. The wine advice is good, and you generally get the vintage listed on the menu instead of a supposedly cheaper substitute. There’s a nice range of local and international food, with both meat and fish choices, all at a refined level. You can sit indoors or outside; the terrace is pleasant, and the tables aren't crammed together. Reliable, solid cooking.

I only ate at the restaurant, and the meal was proper food, very well prepared. Started with foie gras, then had bleu steak with vegetables, and finished with tart and fromage. Wonderful meal, highly recommend.

We’ve been three times now, which says plenty. It’s a wonderful chance to experience real France, and everyone is lovely. The chef is a phenomenon, and the staff are amazing, with hospitality just as fabulous as their attitude. We’ll be back again. Non?
