The family made us feel very welcome, and everyone pitched in, including an aunt whose cooking was wonderful. We had dinner at the hotel one night and enjoyed it, and breakfast was good too. There were fewer restaurants open during the off season, so it was especially handy to eat there. The hotel suggested a lovely hike nearby, and it’s just across the street from the spa, which we found very relaxing. Our room was comfortable and had everything we needed, including a fridge, coffee and tea. The automatic blinds made it nice and dark for sleeping. We also enjoyed relaxing in the garden and watching the pet tortoises wander around. It was one of our favorite places on our Europe trip, and we’d happily return if we’re in the area. There was roadwork in front of the hotel for cobblestones, which was expected to be finished by December 2025; fortunately, there’s a back entrance to use.

We got coupons for the nearby spa, and it was fabulous. The building is beautiful and well located, the rooms were comfortable, and both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Thank you!

The whole family gave us wonderful service, and after a long day hiking it was great to head downstairs for dinner. We hadn’t realized there was a prix fixe dinner menu as well as breakfast with homemade items, and the meal was both delicious and convenient. We visited early in the season, when many shops and restaurants were still closed. My mother and I chose the hotel after reading a blog calling it *the* place to stay in Cauterets, and we weren’t disappointed. Our room was clean, with a mountain feel, and had lovely custom tile in the bathroom. We were also charmed by the tortoises on the patio. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back.

July '25. A lovely, old-style hotel run by a family. The rooms are snug but comfortable. Breakfast was simple and plentiful: juice, boiled eggs, a limited cereal selection, fresh bread and pastries, hot drinks, and fresh fruit.

Dinner at the hotel was great, and I’d recommend booking a table one night. The place was quiet and peaceful, and our room was clean. It’s centrally located in Cauterets, though the town itself isn’t large, and getting to and from the gare was easy. I’d stay here again if I were in the area.
