I have travelled around France since the early 1960s and love the country. We've stayed at B&Bs here since 1987, and this was the worst one we've come across. Most owners are kind and friendly, but this one was like a female Basil Fawlty. My 93 year old father-in-law became ill, so we had to leave almost as soon as we arrived. The owner was very unfriendly and rude, and wouldn't refund any of our pre-payment. I understand she couldn't rent the room again, but she also had no cleaning, laundry, or breakfast costs. The place struck us as dreadful and home-spun, with rooms lined up like prison cells. Even one star feels too generous. Would I stay here again? No thank you.

A lovely open view, a welcoming terrace, and free parking were among the pluses, along with the friendly hosts and good breakfast. The house is beautiful and peaceful, the room was decent, and it's about 25 minutes from Dijon. The double bed felt too narrow, and there was a strong smell in the toilet when we arrived, though it had gone by the second day. There was no Wi-Fi in the room or out on the terrace. The decor may not suit everyone, as they say. A nice choice for a few quiet days near Dijon.

The food was good, and the staff came across as friendly and professional. It's a nice place to stop before going into the Mont Blanc tunnel for a first course. The pizza was good as well.

The guesthouse is beautiful and has a homely feel. We were greeted very warmly, and breakfast was great.
