The hotel is clean and well kept, with comfortable rooms, good beds, and the basics you need for a short stay. I found the staff welcoming and helpful. Its location near the station, with the city center within walking distance, made exploring easy. Some parts could do with a refresh to feel more like other Mercure properties, and the atmosphere is more practical than charming. Nothing major, but it was enough to bring my rating down to four stars.

We spent Christmas break catching up and relaxing, and our one night felt like three days. Everyone on staff was really friendly, and breakfast was amazing. My only gripe was that there was no black tea or milk in the bedroom.

We checked in but never got to our room. The only parking we were offered was at the station, 300 metres away, which wasn't workable because my wife is disabled and has trouble moving around. The hotel has a garage, and we were told that even though spaces were available, none could be offered to us. We left and found another hotel less than 2 km away, with friendly staff and parking. Shame on you Mecure. We won't use your hotels again. If I could give less than one star, I would.

Alienor was really kind and helped sort out a booking mix-up. She let us sit in the lobby while we worked things out, then called us a taxi. Thanks so much!

The station is literally opposite, so the location is great. Chambéry is lovely to wander around, with lots of shops and places to eat. Our room was a good size, very clean, and had a comfortable bed. Breakfast had a good selection, and all the staff were friendly and helpful.
