It’s taken us a while to write this, but we didn’t want to miss the chance to say how wonderful the staff were. They were kind, welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. They also arranged for a gift to be waiting in our room when we arrived for my wife’s birthday, and patiently answered all my many questions about Chamonix, skiing and restaurants. We can’t wait to return!

Over $25,000 in cash and jewelry was stolen from our room while my wife and I were at spa appointments. There was no forced entry, and we had our keys with us at the spa. The staff knew about the appointments, which seemed very conspicuous to us, but they denied it and said it was “impossible.” Nothing like this has happened to me in all my travels around the world. There were no cameras in the common areas, elevator lobbies or hallways, and the key numbers were plainly written on the keys, which I’ve never seen before. Since we no longer felt safe, the only response offered was letting us check out early. We went to the police, but without security cameras, there seemed to be little chance of anything being done.

I expected a relaxing stay, but instead felt uncomfortable and poorly treated. The front desk staff, especially the women at reception, came across as unfriendly and unprofessional, with little hospitality or respect for guests. Room service was also poor and below what I’d expect from a hotel in this category. This was very disappointing and didn’t feel like the standard of a five-star hotel.

The pool and spa were a favorite, especially the salt wall. The rooms were wow, but what made our stay special was how the staff interacted with us. A huge thank you to everyone for helping with everything and more during our time at your superb hotel.
