I travel a lot using Booking.com, and I know my rights. What bothered me was that I only learned after booking that the hotel required a 50% deposit to confirm the reservation, even though free cancellation was offered. The hotel’s booking page never said this deposit would be requested as a guarantee. The payment link sent afterward wasn’t connected to Booking.com either, which seemed suspicious to me with scams becoming more common. Thomas, Booking.com is just the intermediary. The hotel provides the conditions and is responsible for what gets published, including deciding whether to ask for a deposit. So do you not think there’s something wrong with leaving this out? And since when is summer “very high season” at a ski resort? The issue isn’t that you want a 50% deposit. It’s that you didn’t explain it would be required to secure the reservation. That’s why I’m posting this warning. In my experience, your hotel is the exception.

The spa was excellent. We had to stick to time slots and keep our distance, but I loved moving between the hamman, sauna and ice bath. The staff also did a great job making our Valentine’s weekend feel comfortable, romantic and fairly normal despite Covid. We stayed in a Mansard room under the roof, with a view of Mont Blanc. It was clean and spacious, with a big comfortable bed and blackout curtains. The hotel was full, but it stayed very quiet, which this light sleeper appreciated. Our balcony overlooked the nearby road, but it was a small two-lane road and I heard no noise at all. The hotel has a fun, modern style that reminded me a little of Mama Shelter. It’s centrally located, so you can walk everywhere. Underground parking is available for 10€ a day, handy since the other parking option is quite far from the town centre. We had room and board, with breakfast and dinner delivered to the room. It was nice, though not the same as eating in a restaurant. Would definitely recommend.

The pool is wonderful, and the views are beautiful. The hotel itself looks lovely, with a spacious lobby, some complimentary drinks and all the services you need. Reception was very helpful. It is expensive, though, the place isn’t soundproof, and there were very few bathroom items provided.

A stylish hotel in a great spot, with a lovely spa and staff who were both friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely stay here again.
