Chamonix Lodge

A high standard for a relatively low price, and the best ho(s)tel I've stayed in. The place is about a 15-minute walk from the city center. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, with a big fridge and freezer. Free breakfast is self-service, good, and enough to satisfy morning hunger. There are a large terrace, a sauna, and free parking for around four cars. Check-in was clear and smooth. Rooms are cozy and clean, towels are available, and the owners leave earplugs and a cookie. There are at least two bathrooms with plenty of toilet paper and a hairdryer. Wi-Fi works well, and there's a work area and a chillout space with a fireplace. Books, board games and helpful notes are available around the place. The owners were easy to communicate with and ready to help. No complaints there. I totally recommend it.

The room was a little small, but it was comfortable, very clean, and had enough space. The staff were really nice, and breakfast was available around the clock and tasted delicious. We loved our stay and would come back.

Don't let the word hostel put you off. I had a wonderful stay in a room for four and met people from all around the world. It was clean, with nice bathrooms, a good kitchen and a welcoming common space. There was always enough time and room to cook if you wanted to. The staff were very nice. The only downside during my stay was that the sauna wasn't working.

I spent a night here in October and found the whole place really warm and welcoming. The host was lovely, and I met some pretty cool people during my stay. I booked a four-bed dorm, and everything was very clean, from the sheets to the towels they provide. Breakfast is simple but good. You can help yourself to hot chocolate, coffee and tea all day, as much as you like. It's also one of the most affordable places to stay in Chamonix, which makes it great for backpackers. I'll definitely come back in a couple of months.
