We’ve returned to the presbytery three times, in 2016, 2020, and a few days ago, always to mark something important in our lives. Each visit has charmed us. The calm and greenery make it easy to gather friends, and they’ve loved the place too. Inside, the decor keeps catching our eye, and the lilac shutters add to the charm. From the moment you pass through the gate, it feels peaceful and far away from everything, almost like our own country home. There’s a timeless, welcoming feel here, with none of that impersonal atmosphere. We’ll definitely come back.

We paid 2300 euros for two nights over Easter weekend, which was outrageous. The cottage is in poor condition, with appliances from the 70s or 80s that didn’t work. The outbuilding was no warmer than 15 degrees Celsius at night, and the railing was being held up by a scarf. What else is there to say?

Disastrous stay. At 2300 euros for two nights, I expected better. The stove was stuck at 15 degrees and couldn’t be adjusted, and everything was covered in limescale. Paint was peeling from the doors, windows, and even the furniture, and there was no barbecue. Worse, the smoke and gas detectors had no batteries, and wires were exposed in the electrical meter. On top of all that, there was no way to have a conversation with the owner. DISASTROUS!

The garden was lovely and quiet, and worked really well for a family get-together. There’s lots of room, plenty of beds and bedrooms, and the place is well equipped. Wi-Fi is there for anyone who needs it ;)

Avoid. The house is dilapidated and very poorly insulated. Cleaning hadn’t been done, and some lamps and electrical outlets didn’t work. We’d agreed the heating would be switched on the day before, but it wasn’t. Scandalous at that price.
