After a tiring day cycling through the countryside, we arrived and the owners refused to let us stay the night. They said we were unpleasant and told us to book somewhere else. We couldn’t find any accommodation available nearby. Being turned away like that over what seemed to be a simple question of mood is unacceptable to me.

The room was absolutely quiet and very clean. I had a lovely stay at the château, with a beautiful room and an excellent breakfast. The owners were very friendly and interesting to talk to.

The suite was sumptuous, and the peaceful setting made it easy to unwind. Breakfast was divine. We found this place by chance while staying near Fouras, and the hosts gave us a very warm welcome. They clearly enjoy welcoming guests and sharing their passion for the property. A must-stay in the area if you love nature and beautiful buildings.

Last summer, we booked one night in a room at the castle, but the hosts kicked us out because they couldn’t provide the room we’d asked for, even though we were completely flexible. They feared a “bad review” and decided to leave us out on the street. Without the boundless kindness and generosity of a local villager, my mother and I came very close to sleeping in a field.
