The castle and its setting were lovely, and the service and fine dining experience were spot on for a great price. Our room was spacious and comfortable, though its rather basic decor felt quite out of place beside the castle’s luxurious furnishings. We’ll come back.

Dinner was wonderful, breakfast was lovely, and the staff and service were excellent. The room was well appointed, but the central heating kept switching on and off and was extremely noisy through the night. The bathroom could also really use a renovation.

The room we had was in the second building beside the castle, and its condition was a real letdown. I’m not sure why management has allowed that building and its rooms to deteriorate so much. They don’t match the quality of everything else there. The front desk service was good, and we enjoyed the nearby spa and pools as well as the restaurant. See attached photos.

After driving 500 km, we arrived tired and hungry, only to discover that the bar and restaurant are closed on Mondays. We had to head back out to find something to eat. I don’t think a four-star hotel should have nights when its bar or restaurant is closed.

The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the staff and food were wonderful. Such a lovely atmosphere, too. We only needed one night, but it was absolutely wonderful. Merci bien.
