We were there out of season, so the bars and restaurants were closed, but the local shops still had treats for breakfast. The site feels peaceful and rural, with grass and trees beside the river. Facilities are great, and there are lovely riverside paths for walking the dog. We had to drive to Saintes at that time of year, but the lovely town is well worth a visit.

A warm welcome from the owner at this lovely French campsite. The pitches are on open grass without hedges around them, and there’s plenty of hot water for showers. There’s a bar and restaurant on site if you want them. It’s extremely quiet, in a small sleepy village, with a Co-op supermarket within walking distance.

We cycled to see the Roman parts of Saintes, which were easy to visit from here, and would certainly come back. The campsite is by the river, next to a park locals use at weekends, so there’s a friendly feel. The owner is helpful and friendly, and the bar and restaurant are good value. The eels with parsley and dauphinois potatoes were delicious!

We loved our two nights here. It was quiet, with big pitches and not many people, right by the river and its little beach, next to the bar and restaurant. The owner was very friendly. There were EHU, water, a chemical toilet and grey waste, plus a nice shower block. The weather was wonderful, and the little ferry across the river was very cute. Nice riverside walks, and shops nearby, including a baker's, supermarket and butchers, plus a couple of restaurants. There was also a small Tuesday market selling fruit and vegetables and other things. We paid 14.44€ with ACSI card, great value. Will return.

A calm, relaxing place for a stopover. It's a small, clean, well-run campsite on the banks of the river Charente, probably handy when travelling from the south west of France towards a ferry port in Brittany or Normandy.
