The floors were so dirty that our feet turned black, and the bedroom jacuzzi with its ceiling mirror felt nothing like the promised luxury. With only one bottle of water and four coffee pods for three people over two days, even the basics were lacking. The bedding was awful too: thin, lumpy pillows, pilled synthetic sheets that built up static, and cheap, threadbare towels. The apartment was unbearably hot with just one weak fan. We asked for another, but it took an hour to arrive. Before we got there, I messaged about early check-in and parking and got no reply. Then we waited 45 minutes in 36°C heat for the keys. When someone finally arrived, there was no apology, just an access file that could have been sent earlier. The host stayed silent afterward as well, even after we requested a partial refund and asked for a response within 48 hours. By Day 4, we still hadn't heard anything. We couldn't face a second night on that bedding, so we spent another €400 on a hotel. We paid €534.69 for two nights, then got an automatic checkout list telling us to strip the bed, empty the bin, gather the towels, and sweep the floor. That's a lot to ask when the place hadn't even been cleaned properly before we arrived. This stay was miserable from beginning to end, and the apartment didn't feel fit for purpose. Book somewhere else.

The cottage in Saint-Leu-d'Esserent was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up, with everything we needed. It's in a quiet, peaceful town about an hour from Paris by RER train. Sandy and Laurent gave us a warm, easy welcome. They were attentive, quick to answer our questions, and happy to share advice. We had an excellent stay and would gladly come back. We came with the children and everything was thought through so well that I didn't need to unpack all the usual essentials I bring on spontaneous overnight trips. It felt like home, with every comfort taken care of. We loved it! Chantilly in Love really does live up to its name, with a warm, private feel for couples. The apartment is also great for a family stay. It's only a few hundred meters from the Château de Chantilly, with a bakery, supermarket, and restaurant nearby. The hosts are accommodating and lovely, with impeccable taste in the decor. Their welcome booklet explains everything clearly, and they're easy to reach. Thank you!
