I love it.
The idea is interesting, but cleanliness and hygiene really matter, and this stay fell badly short. The caravan was dirty and nothing seemed properly maintained. The bread we were given in the morning smelled moldy, and the “gourmet” picnic basket seemed to have come straight from the freezer. We expected a romantic gourmet weekend away and ended up more disappointed than we’ve ever been camping. It shouldn’t be described that way.
My wife and I can’t recommend this place. The caravan was dirty, and the water in the jacuzzi was dirty too, with snails floating in it. We were meant to get a glass of champagne but received orange juice instead. We’re not usually fussy, but I’d say this place is absolutely one to avoid.
We’d booked several months ahead, but when we arrived there was nobody to welcome us. The trailers we could see looked abandoned, the jacuzzi wasn’t there, and only a wooden caravan was occupied by seasonal workers. We tried calling the owner several times, but nobody answered. Avoid this place. It was a miserable scam.
We used a Smartbox gift voucher and had wanted a caravan for those dates. The owner said they were occupied and offered us the little studio next door, so we accepted. The welcome was really warm, and the studio was nicely decorated and cute as a button. You can tell the owner loves antiques. But the caravans weren’t occupied the first night, so he must not have had time to clean them. That was disappointing, and the studio was truly deplorable in terms of cleanliness, with lots of dust and dirt. We’re not usually fussy. It’s a shame, because the place could be superb and the idea is original, but it needs a major clean.
