Residhome Chartres

I've been here for a month while working temporarily in the area. It's handy for the center, about five minutes away, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. My little dog could stay for a few days too, which was a big plus. Some of the reception staff are lovely and help where they can. I'd recommend it.

The room was good value, especially at the off-season rate, and we really enjoyed our stay at Residehome. I liked the simple, elegant design, and the room was practical too. The place has a corporate feel, but the staff were warm and personable rather than stiff. We arrived late on Friday after a long drive and work week, completely worn out. The man at reception greeted us warmly and was so helpful, which gave us a welcome lift. My only issue was the lack of electric window shades. I’m very sensitive to light at night, so getting to sleep was hard. I bought an eye mask for the second night, and that helped.

The studio was €82 for the night. Both the person at check-in and the one at check-out were pleasant. Room 215 was bright and roomy, with a comfortable bed and decent pillows. It was quiet with the windows shut, and the bathroom had plenty of space and a shower with steady hot water. There was enough room for a dining table, and the fridge and mini dishwasher were useful. Being able to prepare a meal is a nice extra, and I could easily have stayed a week without wanting more space. There are shared areas by reception too, though I was only there for one night and didn't use them. The location was great.

We were welcomed so kindly, and the staff were wonderful. They even called ahead while we were on our way to Chartres. The hotel is peaceful but close to the center, with clean, renovated rooms. Covered private parking is available for €8.
