Patricia and Jean-Louis are lovely hosts, always attentive and ready with useful advice. I come back regularly and have had a wonderful stay each time. The gîte is in a great spot for relaxing, with an outdoor pool and a jacuzzi. I highly recommend it.

The jacuzzi was a real treat, and the bedding was in excellent condition. We stayed at Jean Louis's gîte over New Year's weekend. It’s warm and comfortable, set right by the forest, and works well for a small group. The decor and maintenance could use some attention, including taking down the ceiling drapes. The staircase also seems rather dangerous for young children.

We had a great time unwinding in the covered jacuzzi after running in the woods nearby. Just watch out for hunters and stick to the public paths. The garden is large, and there’s a terrace too. Inside, the cottage is spacious and practical for 12 adults, with comfortable bedrooms and living room and a well-equipped kitchen. We rented it for three nights over New Year's with friends. It’s in a quiet, wooded spot at the edge of Touraine, and would work well for family or friends. The owner was friendly and welcoming, and both check-in and checkout were easy. I’d left a personal item behind, and he promptly mailed it back to me, thank you again. A few things could be improved: the bedroom stairs feel a bit unsafe because the handrail is low, the kitchen sink pressure is too weak, and the camera by the jacuzzi is puzzling. You soon forget it’s there, but it might help to explain on arrival whether it’s for safety or liability. The cottage has a lot of potential, though some updating is needed. The price seemed a little high for its overall quality, even if it was still reasonable. I recommend the cottage.

The beds and pool were great, but we found the rest of the stay difficult. The house feels old-fashioned and poorly maintained, despite years of reviews pointing out problems. There are signs all over the place, mostly warnings and prohibitions, and they felt inappropriate. We rent large holiday homes as a family often and have never felt as watched as we did here. The owner was on-site, and no one had told us beforehand. It’s a shame, because the house could be fantastic. Instead of focusing on his neighbors, whom he says he doesn’t get along with, and his legal action against them, Mr. Richard should put his energy into renovations and taking the reviews into account. I don’t think you’re suited to this work. Change careers, Mr. Richard.
