Gites de l'isle - Appartement en location courte durée

The apartment itself is nice and well located, but it wasn’t very clean, and some of the house rules felt odd. I’d expect to wash my dishes, but being told to take out my own trash and strip the sheets when leaving felt like too much. I chose to pay on arrival, but was charged in advance twice. The first time I asked for the money back and got a refund, then a few days later they charged me again. I didn’t have time to argue a second time. I would have paid either way, but the advance rate was £148 and the pay-on-arrival rate was £158. Even though I’d been charged ahead of time, they charged me the £158 amount.

Check-in and checkout were easy, and communication with the host was smooth and well organized. The apartment was clean and well equipped, with plenty of room for a trip to the Champagne region. It’s a handy base for visiting the vineyards and Château-Thierry. Recommended!

The stairs are worth knowing about: there aren’t many, but they’re narrow and unusually steep. Finding the Wi-Fi took me a minute, so look for the barcode above the TV. Otherwise, no complaints. The place was clean, the view was good, and it’s close to everything in Château Thierry. We also got fast replies.

Sebastièn was a helpful host and put a lot of effort into making us feel welcome. The apartment is cozy, recently renovated, right in the city center, and has a nice bathroom and modern household equipment. There’s free parking around the corner. The building itself was pretty run-down, but that didn’t matter much for a short stay.
