Ibis Styles Cognac

We stopped here twice for one night each, and both times Davide and Sabina made us feel very welcome. The pool was a lovely break from the heatwave, and the slide down to reception was fun. Breakfast and dinner were tasty, though the choices were limited. For the price, it’s a very good place to stay, and the hosts made the visits enjoyable.

The breakfast was good, but the service left a bad impression. We came down later during service and found the staff very unfriendly. The atmosphere was awful, and we left as quickly as we could. Our room was very hot on arrival, and the temperature system was centrally controlled. I asked reception several times to turn it down, but nothing changed. I’m not even sure there was an AC unit in the room. In the end, they just shrugged us off without offering another option. After this stay, I don’t plan to book an ibis again.

The rooms were comfortable and very clean, and they were welcoming to both kids and dogs. There’s a playroom at reception with some toys and a few educational computers for children. Staff were lovely and incredibly helpful in both English and French. After a long drive, the pool was a great way to wind down, and it stayed open until 21:00. Breakfast was good but nothing special. We didn’t have dinner there, so I can’t comment on that. The parking lot is a good size, though it was full around 21:00-21:30. COVID measures were in place without being annoying or excessive. I’d definitely come back.

The rooms were comfortable and very clean, and breakfast had a good variety. The manager and staff were friendly and helpful. Having a swimming pool was an added bonus, just what you need after a long drive.
